Tipping event staff in the UK isn’t as common as in some other countries, so here’s the good news: Tipping is completely optional. Whether or not you tip, our team is committed to delivering their best. That said, if someone went above and beyond to make your day special, a tip is always appreciated as a thoughtful gesture!

Tipping is never expected at Event Temps. As a REAL Living Wage Employer, we ensure every team member is fairly compensated for their hard work and expertise. Tipping is simply an extra way to express your gratitude if you feel like it—but there’s absolutely no pressure.
Who Should You Tip?
Our team is made up of skilled professionals, including waiting staff, bartenders, crew members, and sometimes a standout individual who made everything run smoothly.
If you’d like to tip:
Direct Tips: You can give directly to the staff member who made your event special.
Group Tips: Prefer a simpler approach? Hand your tip to the event manager, supervisor, or team lead, and they’ll ensure it’s fairly distributed among the whole team.
How Much Should You Tip?
There’s no set amount—it’s all about what feels right for you. For guidance, clients often tip 5-10% of the total event cost, but any amount, big or small, is appreciated. It’s entirely up to you!

Cash Tips: Hand cash directly to a team member, lead staff, or event manager at the end of your event.
Digital Payment: Prefer a cashless option? We can add your tip to the final invoice—just let us know, and we’ll handle the rest!

At Event Temps, we believe in fairness. Following the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, all tips are distributed transparently among the team. Whether it’s a small gathering or a large event, everyone who contributed to making your event a success will receive their share based on their role and effort.
VAT and Tipping
Good news: Tips at Event Temps are not subject to VAT. This means that 100% of your gratuity goes directly to the hardworking individuals who made your event unforgettable.
